Welcome! We're so happy you're here! We're Kalyn and Caela, two besties that can usually be found together in Walt Disney World or Target. We're here to bring you reviews, tips and tricks, funny anecdotes, and our favorite shopping finds. Our style is all about being cute, practical, and comfortable. We hope our blog brings you magic and joy!
Before the pandemic started, Caela and I were avid attendees of Orange Theory Fitness, we absolutely loved it. Not only was it a great workout because it constantly pushed us to try our best, but we truly owe it major credit for helping us train for our first runDisney half marathon. Although we both don’t go anymore, it isn’t because we don’t like it, but because with our busy schedules we found it more convenient to find ways to work out at home. We also move often (oh military life) and some of the places that we move to don’t have an Orange Theory close by!
At the beginning of 2020 when the pandemic started, Caela started researching indoor cycling bikes. The Peloton community was becoming popular and it looked like a lot of fun. After talking to her good friends who own a Peloton, Caela was fully convinced she wanted to buy one! It took me (Kalyn) awhile to commit. I thought about it for months. I finally decided to go for it and purchased one at the beginning of February this year and I’m so so happy I did. We both like having a class structured workout, it keeps us motivated. We’re able to schedule a class together (or apart) and it helps us hold each other accountable (just like Orange Theory)! I travel often for work and miss my bike while I’m gone, wish I could pack it in my suitcase but I’m glad I can take other classes through the app!
Even if you’re not looking to purchase the bike, you can pay $12.99 a month for the Peloton app and it includes many different types of workouts. Including running, strength training, yoga, walking, meditation, pilates, and more! You can also use another bike to take a cycling class with the app, it won’t be the same as the actual Peloton bike but many people make it work and like it!
If y’all want to bike along with us our Peloton leaderboard names are Kuhla & KalynL
We also walk a lot. We’re lucky enough to both live in states with a warmer climate most of the year. So it’s easy for us to take a long walk outside. We listen to audio books, music, or make phone calls to pass the time. Our dogs, Gable and Lily, especially love going on the walks with us. The neighborhood adjacent to mine is pretty hilly, which also makes it a great workout!
Walking around the Walt Disney World or Target is also great exercise haha
Of course we can’t forgot to mention our love for runDisney. We wrote a whole blog post about it here if you’d like to check it out! RunDisney truly means so much to us and we can’t wait to be back at WDW for a race weekend. We currently don’t run as much as we did the year before last. But the day were able to sign back up for a race, you’ll find us lacing up our tennis shoes so incredibly fast and hitting that pavement.
If you ever have any questions about Orange Theory, Peloton, RunDisney, or anything else, leave a comment anytime!
A Peleton is such a big investment for me and my family. My worry is that I’ll spend the money and it will just be collecting dust in the basement. What keeps you motivated to keep using the peleton?
Hi! We ride with each other when we can, which definitely helps! We will also set aside time, or take the live classes to keep us to a specific schedule and ensure we hop on. There are a variety of class lengths, so even if we aren’t really feeling it, we will force ourselves to take a 10 or 15 min class which usually translates to taking more classes since we are already on the bike! We find rides that have music we love which gets us excited to ride as well. 🙂
