Welcome! We're so happy you're here! We're Kalyn and Caela, two besties that can usually be found together in Walt Disney World or Target. We're here to bring you reviews, tips and tricks, funny anecdotes, and our favorite shopping finds. Our style is all about being cute, practical, and comfortable. We hope our blog brings you magic and joy!
If you haven’t heard about us talk about this place a million times on our Instagram, then you should know it’s our favorite place to eat on Disney property!
The Boathouse is located at Walt Disney World in Disney Springs. If you’re parking your car, you can find it closest to the lime parking garage. It sits right on the water, in the Landing section of Disney Springs, which is about the center of the DS property.
If you’d like to dine inside, a reservation is highly recommend as it’s always super busy. Don’t fret though, if you’re like us and sometimes your plans are made on the fly, seating inside at the bar and outside on the dock, is first come first serve. So Caela and I usually walk right through the restaurant, head straight out to the back, and find a table outside (they do have heat lamps when it gets chilly)! Depending on the weather though, we will try and scope out seats at the bar inside. Since it’s usually just the two is us, its fairly easy to get a seat. If you plan to visit with a larger party, reservations are probably a good idea, but there are tables outside that will seat 4 or more.
You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, it’s all so good and the drink menu is impressive! From beers, to crafted cocktails, to lots of wine, there is something for everyone. The Duck Duck Razz is very popular. It’s Stoli Raz, peach schnapps, blue curaçao, lemon juice and simple syrup; topped with a little mini rubber duck, it’s super cute. Caela and I usually stick to our regular ice waters and moscato every time we go.
We start each meal asking for the bread rolls 🤣 if you’re seated inside I believe they automatically deliver them to your table but if not you just have to ask for them! Since we mostly sit outside or at the bar we ask for them when we order our drinks. Best part is they are complimentary! Thick, fluffy, warm, & served with honey butter, they are AMAZING.
The firecracker shrimp are phenomenal. I’m drooling right now thinking about them. We get those almost every single time we go!
PRO TIP: you can ask for anything on their menu to be a half portion!! So if you’re up for trying multiple things but want smaller portions definitely order this way! ***The firecracker shrimp pictured below is a HALF portion! Caela and I had also split the lobster roll with a wedge side salad. They were kind enough to give us our own separate plates, so those are also half portions pictured.
We’re also big fans of the oysters. Those can be ordered by the half dozen or dozen. Our favorite ones to order are the Lucky Dux. They can be pricy but worth the money if you’re looking to splurge. They have a handful of other oyster selections too so you’re not limited to just one!
We tend to be creatures of habit and order the same things off the menu ever single time we go 🤣 We love the salads, they are so fresh. I (Kalyn) LOVE the chopped salad. It’s an iceberg-romaine lettuce blend with chicken, salami, artichoke hearts, tomatoes, and cheese. Caela normally gets the wedge or caesar! We’ve also have had the shrimp & andouille mac and cheese, duo chips and dip, the “yacht club” club, and a few other things. You can never go wrong!
As for the kids menu, it’s decently priced. I included a picture of their entree menu below. If they aren’t a fan a seafood, they do have a few other options to choose from!
Earlier this year they also announced the start of a new Sunday bunch menu served from 10am to 3pm! We haven’t tried it yet but heard the food is AMAZING. And as of April 28th, they just announced they will start serving brunch on Saturdays 😍 starting May 8th!
Check out the full lunch & dinner menu here on the Walt Disney World website!! You can also leave us a comment below, we’d love to hear from you! Do you love The Boathouse too? Haven’t been yet but plan to visit soon? Any questions? Ask away!
My sister and I have been to WDW many times and like you we lived right outside WDW for about a year back in 2013/14. Since we moved back to Long Island in 2014 we have only been able to go to WDW once, this year in July. When I told my boss at CVD Equipment that I was going he said you have to look at my daughter’s website must have magic! So that’s what led me here!
For our visit this year we were very focused on staying in the Disney Springs area because it was not finished yet when we moved. We had the BEST time and our favorite restaurant was THE BOATHOUSE! We started with the delicious lobster bisque. It actually didn’t have lobster meat in it but it was so flavorful. We ordered shrimp cocktail although the menu has a different name for it. The shrimp were quite large and you can tell them how many shrimp you want. Great cocktail sauce. Our very nice and very handsome waiter informed us of the half portion option you suggested and we split a crab cake. This was a huge crab cake that was mostly crabmeat and was probably the best crab cake I ever had! In addition to the amazing food we absolutely loved the beautiful atmosphere and the gift shop had beautiful clothes, jewelry, bags and more to choose from. We probably spent an hour in there after we ate!
Hi Jen! That is too funny. Glad you found us, and so glad you enjoyed your time at the Boathouse! It is one of our favorites! We love staying near Springs because of the choices in food and entertainment (and shopping :D). Hope you get down to WDW again soon!!
